Monday Morning Encouragement -- There Will Be A Day

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4

(Today's devotional is a repost from May 21, 2022. I'll be back next week!)

I know that many of you who read this blog are in need of comfort. You are suffering with physical pain, or perhaps the loss of someone very dear to you -- a spouse, a parent, or a child. Life is full of events that break our hearts, and sometimes we feel completely alone in our pain. However, there is One who is aware of every tear we shed. Psalm 56:8 tells us that our Heavenly Father collects our tears.

I like the way the Living Translation puts it:

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book."

These words should give us comfort, for they show that we are dearly loved and certainly not forgotten. Think about it like this: If Jesus would give His very life to save us. And He did! Do we really believe that He is not personally interested in everything that happens to us? That He is indifferent to our pain and sorrow? That's impossible! Scripture is full of evidence that Jesus cares, and He has promised that there will be a day when He will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

I don't know about you, but that is a day I am anxious to experience. I want to see my Savior face to face. I want to kneel before Him and feel His hand gently rest on my head. And if there's a tear in my eye, I want Him to sweetly wipe it away.

Friends, I pray that you can honestly say today that you are ready to meet Jesus. That you have placed your faith and trust in Him for your salvation. Everyone will eventually pass from this earth into eternity. Make sure that you will spend your eternity in Heaven; in the presence of the One who will wipe away your tears.

Today's music video is Hymn of Heaven by Phil Wickham. I love the lyrics, and I think you will too. "Glory to our God, who gave us life beyond the grave. Holy, holy is the Lord!"

I Iove you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you.

  1. This is a beautiful post Nancy. I am SO ready to meet Jesus and I think it may not be long before He comes for us. The bridegroom returning for His bride. Just know that I am His brings peace to my heart.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  3. This was such a beautiful and comforting read. It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed by pain and loss, but knowing that every tear we shed is noticed and cared for by someone who loves us deeply is incredibly reassuring. The reminder that there’s a day coming when all our pain will be wiped away and we’ll be in the presence of Jesus is something that gives hope to anyone going through tough times. The verse from Psalm 56:8 really hits hard — it’s like God is holding all our moments of sorrow close to His heart. I’ll definitely be holding onto that promise. Thanks for sharing this message.
