Last week after work I stopped at Goodwill for a browse and saw a hand painted side table for $4.99. I've been thinking about adding a side table next to the sofa, though it hasn't been a big priority. However, when I saw the price tag, the size of the table (which is pretty much perfect for the spot I had in mind) and found the table to be sturdy, I put that find right into my shopping cart. Although I thought the hand painted flowers were rather charming, the colors really didn't work with those in my living room, so I knew I would do some kind of makeover on the table.
Hello Cottage Friends,
My Christmas spirit is pretty high this year, and that has overflowed into my decorating. Along with bringing out decor from last Christmas, I've added thrifted, made over, and created decorations to my home. I wanted Christmas pillows for my living room, and after pricing them in retail stores I knew I had to come up with a less expensive way to get the neutral colors I was looking for.
This week I'm taking some time off from work; a staycation meant to give me a chance to kick back, have some fun, and enjoy the freedom of deciding myself what I want to do with these ten days. Yes! Ten days. One of the things I chose to do was create wall decor for a space between my two living room windows, just above my TV screen.
