Hello Cottage Friends,
I have a question for you today:
What makes a person beautiful?
I imagine the answer to that question is as varied as the persons who answer it.
To those who have a relationship with the Lord, the praise they offer to Him makes them beautiful. It's like wearing attire that really makes you look great. Like the special dress which always brings compliments to the woman who wears it. Or the suit and tie that makes people admire the man who puts it on. When we're praising God, our countenance shines. Whether we're praising Him silently or in a crowded auditorium with a worship band, praise becomes us. It always does. But I suggest that there is a particular beauty that comes in praising God from a weeping heart. The person who is suffering, or impoverished, or brokenhearted, and can still find it within themselves to praise God, has found the secret to lasting beauty. Praise is easy when things are going well, but to praise God in the midst of hard circumstances is a sacrifice. And sacrificial praise is the most becoming of all. Whatever is going on in your life today, I encourage you to offer praise to the Lord. He so very much deserves it.
The Doxology performed by Anthem Lights and Selah is a great place to start.

ReplyDeleteand then it has been difficult to praise God. Just anguish over the
moment and wonder where is He when I needed Him. But it is
better to always praise Him. He answers in many different ways than
our way. I really smiled during the song as the singers were smiling while
praising. Thank you and hope you are not buried in 3 feet of snow. Lynn
Oh yes, Lynn, I'm afraid I am buried in snow. I think we have about 3 feet. I'm trying to work up the courage to go out and begin digging myself out. Will probably wait until it gets a little warmer -- later this morning. 😊

ReplyDeleteNancy that video was beautiful and your words are always an encouraging blessing. I read your response above . . . do be careful while out shoveling snow. I called a friend this year when I went out, and she checked with me every 1/2 hour. At our age it's good to have someone knowing that you are out there working. It's easy to slip, fall or even have a heart attack . . . just if anything was to happen, there's someone who will get you help if you are not able to help yourself. It's a good safety measure to call a friend.

I appreciate your concern, Connie. My neighbors were all out shoveling at the same time I was. The nice thing about living in a 55+ park is that our homes are all close to one another, and we all watch out for each other. So, I'm fine. My driveway is clear and I'm snug in my home now. Thanks.😊
