Cottage Shutters and Window Boxes

I just love the shutters framing the recessed window on the Brittany cottage above. And did you notice the flower box sitting on the window's ledge? Charming, charming.

This ivy-covered cottage with shutters closed is enchanting. I'm crazy for that shade of blue.

I once lived in a pretty little townhouse with this flower box under the kitchen window. I filled it with petunias so I could enjoy their lovely fragrance wafting through the open window above my sink.

A window box might be nice under this window of our cottage.

How do you feel about shutters and/or window boxes?

There's still time to enter our art giveaway, if you haven't yet done so. Click here for details and a chance to win a print of my husband's beautiful artwork.

Blessings,

  1. How timely ! I have pulled all my gardening books out of shelves and am daydreaming about window boxes and pots of herbs. It will be a "joyful" sight! I am anxious to smell the fresh dirt and feel the sun on my face! Thank you Lord for Springtime - new beginnings.

  4. I love window boxes. When we had a mural painted on the courtyard side of our city house, the artist included a beautiful window box - in bloom all year long.

  5. I love the cottage picture. I also love window boxes. Mine are mostly in the shade. I usualy use impatence in them because of the lack of sun. Yes, you need on on your cute little cottage.

    1. I LOVE impatiens. So many gorgeous colors to choose from and no deadheading! Perfect.

    1. Thanks, Jill. The only problem with petunias is that they tend to get leggy 3/4 of the way through the season. I think the new wave petunias are the exception. But I did love those petunias and that flower box.
