Cottage Arbor

Isn't this a quaint cottage? I love the eyebrow window. But what really grabs my attention is that arbor. The way it frames the window is pure delight.

My grandfather had a white arbor covered in roses outside his lakeside cottage. Pale pink roses, like the ones in the photo. As a little girl I'd stand under the arbor and drink in their sweet scent.

An arbor over a garden gate is very charming. I'd be happy to have one like this.

Do you have an arbor?

  1. Yes, and I love it! We have grape vines and wisteria growing over it; it makes a lovely place to relax in the swing. Here are the kids enjoying it: http://beautifullifeofjoy.blogspot.com/2011/09/many-blessings.html

  3. Love the pleasant cottage and window . . . and flower arbors are so beautiful. We have a woods filled with huge trees making an arbor of shade for the summer warmth. Not far from us in a nearby town there is a home that has a beautiful Wisteria arbor. I will snap a picture when it is in bloom . . . if permitted!

    1. I love it when the branches of trees meet to make a natural arbor, Lynne. There is a street in my hometown lined with maples. In the summertime the branches arch over the drive and touch, creating a tunnel of green. It's even more gorgeous in the fall. It seems that Wisteria is the flower of choice for arbors, judging by the comments so far. If you get that photo you mentioned, I hope you'll share it with us. God bless.
