Monday Morning Encouragement -- That We Might Live

"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him." 1 John 4:9

We have just celebrated the resurrection of Christ. We proclaim, "He is risen!"  And the answer resounds, "He is risen, indeed!" These words are so much more than just an Easter tradition, they are a testimony to the hope we have as Christians that we have eternal life because our Lord did not stay in the grave. He rose again, conquering sin and death for our sake.

All who put their faith and trust in Jesus will after this life live with Him in Heaven. The Lord prayed for His followers:

"Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, even though the world does not know You, I know You, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them Your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which You have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:24-26)

The very power that raised Christ from the dead is the same power that will one day raise us up and take us to our eternal home. This is the joy of the resurrection! That we who were once dead in our sin, may be alive in Christ. When we repent, turn from our sin, and turn to Jesus as Savior, we exchange death for life. What truth is this! Our sin put Jesus on the cross, but His love kept Him there. Imagine that, if you can. He chose to die for us. "It is finished!" are the words He cried before He died. Praise God for His amazing love!

Today's music video Christus Victor (Amen) by Keith & Kristyn Getty, Cochren & Co. was the closing song for our Easter service yesterday. I will be playing this worship song for days to come. I hope it moves you as it has me.

I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you.
