"For it is You who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness." Psalm 18:28
When the day winds to an end and the sun sets, darkness naturally begins its descent. The rooms in our home that were bright with sunlight become dim, and so we turn on lamps to illuminate our surroundings. I doubt any of us would willingly sit in darkness when we have the ability to turn on a light.
In the spiritual realm we have the same ability to dispel darkness. We have a Savior called "The Light of the World." No matter how dark the sin in our lives, He can overcome it. When we repent and turn to Jesus for salvation, we move from darkness into His marvelous light, no longer bound by the darkness of a life apart from Him.
If we didn't turn the light on in a dark room, we would likely stumble, and perhaps even fall and hurt ourselves. Acknowledging the danger of a room without light prompts us to flip the light switch. In the same way, we must acknowledge the danger of refusing the salvation Christ offers us to avoid the darkness of hell, and live eternally with Him. It's not popular to talk this way, but it is necessary. If you have not yet made the decision to follow Jesus, I pray that you will.
Today's music video Light of The World Medley by Shane and Shane is a song of repentance and salvation. The lyrics are truth put to music.
I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you.
