Monday Morning Encouragement -- Forever Guarding

"The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever."
Psalm 121:8

All of our days are lived under the watchful eye of our Lord. From our first cry outside our mother's womb, to our last breath on earth, He is guarding and keeping the ones who trust in Him. Jesus said, "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand" (John 10:29). We don't need to fear the path that lies before us, for God is intimately familiar with each twist and turn it may take. He goes before us and behind us, and at the same time He walks with us. We are surrounded by His presence. The Lord will guide us in this life, and when it is over He will take us into the glory of the next.

This knowledge should give us comfort, and courage to face uncertain days ahead. The closer we walk with the Lord, the more we experience His faithful presence, the more confident and at peace we will be in this world, no matter what is going on around us.

Stay close to God. Read His word and learn to live according to what He says and not what the world says. God is guarding you. Trust Him!

Today's music video Psalm 121 (He Watches Over You) [feat. Luke Lynass] by The Psalms Project Lyric Videos is a sweet melody of the entire psalm where today's verse is found. I hope it will encourage you.

I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you.

  1. That is such a comfort. To know that God is watching over us and guarding us from the evil one. Angels are all around us if we but had the eyes to see them.
    Have a wonderful Monday.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  2. It definitely brings peace to trust God when all around us seems to be crumbling, and also in the calm times. One of my often repeated verses is Deuteronomy 31:8, which is much like what you said here. Your devotionals always seem to be so timely!

  3. Psalm 121 was one of the Psalms of Ascent that Jewish people would recite/sing as they walked toward Jerusalem. Just imagine them reciting, "My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth."
