Entry Light and Ceiling Fan -- Finally!

Hello Cottage Friends!

Now that my entry ceiling light and the fan in my living room have arrived and been installed, I wanted to share them with you.

The day the electrician installed the fan it was over 80 degrees outside. Then the weather changed and I really haven't used the fan since. (Grin.) Well, it's ready for when the temperature rises again. And I'm happy to be rid of the old ugly fan that used to hang there.

Big improvement, don't you think?

I'm on a staycation this week, and plan to chill a lot and maybe do some random shopping, as well as maybe -- emphasis on maybe -- do a couple of small projects. I've slowly been working on refreshing my entryway.

More about that later. Today's post is mainly just to share the new ceiling fixtures.

I hope you had good weather for Memorial Day. I'm so grateful to all the men and women, and their families, who have sacrificed so much to ensure our country's freedom.

It's kind of cool here; in the 60's. And rainy. The rain we definitely need. The cool temperatures are not exactly what I had hoped for this week, but it may warm up a bit before I have to go back to work next week.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Hugs,

    1. I think it's rained four nights out of the last five, which is fine. Not a lot; just enough to water the flowers. Enjoy the weekend!

  2. Such pretty updates. We also replaced the fan in the dining room and a new install of a matching one in the living room. They make such a difference. We still have several like your old one. In our bedroom, office and guest room. We may or may not change them out. They work fine and are rarely seen by anyone except us. :-)
Our entry light is pretty ugly, but I don't know how we would ever change it since it's so high up.
Take care and thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. I understand about leaving fixtures as is in rooms rarely seen. Often we have to prioritize where and how we spend our dollars. That's why I try to makeover as many of my light fixtures as I can. Thanks for stopping by, Betsy.

  3. The white fan is much more restful looking than the old one. It lightens the room ceiling and doesn't feel like it is intruding into the room. The entry light is mod/whimsical looking. I like both. Hope your staycation is relaxing and good luck shopping in your fun shops. We just keep getting more rain and then cool and then HOT for this time of year. But I do not like winter, so I'll just have to take the heat, lol. Lynn and Precious xx

  7. I love the white ceiling fan! And love your living room too! I wish I had an "entryway" but don't.. the front door opens right into the living room.. so I just have a rack on the wall to hang coats, etc. Like Rebecca said, it's the little things that help so much and bring us joy! Have a great week off! xoxo Marilyn

    1. I do like the way my home is designed. Most of my life I've lived in homes without an entry, so this is one of the first times I've had one. It's very small, and that's okay. I guess we have to appreciate what we've been given and do what we can to make our homes comfortable, and if I may add. . .pretty. Thanks for the sweet comments, Marilyn. Enjoy your day! xx
