Monday Morning Encouragement - New Beginnings

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

I love turning the calendar page to a new year. There's just something about seeing that fresh page without any markings and knowing that not only is it a new month, but it's a whole new year ripe with possibilities.

2022 is a blank page on which will be written another chapter in my life. And although I have no idea what's in store -- the good, as well as the bad -- one thing I know for certain. Jesus is with me and He loves me, and get this: His love is unconditional and it is eternal. No one loves me or loves you as Jesus does.

God is merciful, and His mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 is one of my favorite verses because it reminds me that the Lord doesn't hold things against me. If I confess my sin to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse my heart from the unrighteous offense (1 John 1:9). What's more, He is willing to do this daily. His mercy isn't a one time thing. It's continuous. . .new every morning. No offense -- no sin -- is outside His marvelous mercy. I don't know about you, but this knowledge is at times too much for me to grasp. How can a perfect, holy God open His arms to a sinner like me? It's simply amazing.

Life with Christ is a series of new beginnings. We are never bound to what was yesterday. We rise up in the morning just as fresh and clean as a newly opened spring flower.

It's a new day. It's a new year. Let's commit to allowing Jesus to be the Author of this chapter in our life called 2022. His love is steadfast and it never ceases, and His endless mercy is new every morning. Rejoice in this truth!

Today's music video Mercies (New Every Morning) by Matt Redman is one of my favorites. (This is live at Trafalgar Square, London. Take note of all the different races praising God together in perfect harmony. This is how Heaven will be!)

I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you. May God richly bless you in 2022!

  1. It will be nice to let Jesus be the author of the new year and not let Covid be the main author of our lives. Let's pray for a better year and less unhappiness and more joy. Less Covid and people being sick. Beautiful song. xoxo Kris

  3. Thanks for the reminder my dear friend as I contemplate the year ahead and getting my mind in the right place, the place the Lord wants, as I seek His daily guidance. *big sigh

  4. Praying along with you Nancy. Our Nation needs to seek Jesus and not let FEAR rule the day. So much fear is leading us down a dark path.
Praying for more to get to know Him and may we bring God back to the front of our lives.

  5. So many songs and hymns flow through my mind with those words as covid sweeps through our family.

  7. Hello Nancy, the Lamentations verse is one of my favorite too, fresh every morning! And there is something wonderful about opening up the new calendar. I've lived long enough on this earth to know not to expect life to be trouble free and I'm ever so grateful that I have experienced God's faithfulness in being with me and mine every step of the way through the troubles that come with life. And so many times I've seen good come out of it.

I clicked on the video but it didn't open for me. I wonder what my old computer is up to now? I'm already having a problem leaving comments on some blogger blogs. Oh to have one of my tech savvy grandchildren handy!
