Joy List Monday - Home and Away

HOME

familiar

comforting

filled with simple things I cherish

AWAY

discovery

renewal

memories I long to relive

Thank you for all your kind words expressed to me last week
while I was sick.
Your sweet thoughts and prayers mean so much.
I'm feeling much better!

Are you looking closer at the beauty around you
or aware of things to be thankful for today?

Joy List Monday was prompted by Anne of My Giant Strawberry. I love her idea of "taking a few moments to jot down bits of beauty that I've noticed or any little details in my day that are bringing me joy."

  1. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, Nancy :)

I think it's important to find joy everyday, so even during bad times, I still look for it.

  2. feeling better, is wonderful, is it not?????????

I guess I need a Joy List. looking out at all the snow, and knowing more will come. well, it can get a bit depressing.

but of course, I have much to be Joyful about! need to take out the list and review it.

    thank you!!!

  3. Beautiful Nancy! Love both thoughts - home and away and your choices of words, and picture to illustrate what they mean to you! Somewhere warm is quite appealing this time of year! Luckily, our weather here has been amazingly mild. I just hope we don't get surprised with a terrible whack of winter again, lol....

    1. That's what happened here. Temperatures in the 50's last week, then Saturday temps dropped and we got 5" of snow. Yesterday in the 20's. Sunny and warmer today, about 30 degrees.

  6. Nancy,
Inspirational post and yes I've got a Joy list and an avoid list! Enjoyable and memorable things or events we lock into our hearts and can relive, the sadness we desperately keep at bay we pray won't return one day.
Glad you are feeling much better. Sending a big hug and thanks for this post.
    xx,
    Vera

  13. Nancy, that photo of the beach...if I'm correct, that is CARMEL by the sea, where I am going in June!

I am happy to know you. You are so gentle and kind, and I wish you continued recovery, SOON! This has been quite a winter, and I think we are all going to rejoice when the warmth comes!

    Enjoy your day, Anita

    1. Hi Anita! It does look very much like the coast around Carmel, but it is actually near Yahatz, Oregon. It's a favorite spot of ours. Not as quaint as Carmel, and not filled with Carmel's artisan charm, but still an interesting village on the ocean. You're so nice, Anita. Thank you for your sweet words.

  17. Beautiful pictures. That looks like the corner of a milk glass (?) dish? It reminded me of my late grandmother. She had a collection of it. Glad that you are feeling better! Health is a reason to feel joyful.
