Man Cave Makeover - The Maverick

Lose the bean bags, the tacky harvest gold carpet remnant, and the velvet poker dogs painting.  It's time to makeover the Man Cave.

Recently Man Crates Gifts For Men asked me to participate in their Man Cave Makeover Campaign.  Man Crates Gifts For Men is a new company that has gifts for "all kinds of guys." Gift sets are shipped in a crate that has to be opened with a crow bar. Very much a guy thing right?  Such a novel and fun way to gift the man in your life.

So, back to the makeover. I've created The Maverick Man Cave in honor of the rugged ranchers and cowboys that live here in the West.  I shopped and made my design board on Polyvore; you can find it and all the furnishings here.

Man Cave Makeover

Sherwin-Williams
First I lightened up the cave walls with Sherwin-Williams Modern Gray.

Handmade Rodeo Drive Rainbow Stripe Rug

Then I added a rug of many colors.

Tiki Cordless Bamboo Roman Shade

Neutral bamboo roman shades keep the window treatment simple and classic.  No frou-frou curtains here.

Sofa
Maverick's friends will enjoy sitting in this
comfy leather sofa.
He'll like it for napping, too.

Aram Rustic Lodge Kilim Brown Distressed Leather Arm Chair

Every man deserves his own great chair.
(I won't tell Maverick this one "makes a statement".)

Crate & Barrel Bluestone Coffee Table
The reclaimed pine coffee table has a bluestone top.  He's bound to like its rustic barn style.

A La Carte Card Table
Maverick needs a table next to his chair for reading material and a drink.  To keep his cave from becoming too serious I gave him an amusing card table.

Amarillo Cast Iron White Horseshoe Bookends Set
These horseshoe bookends will keep
his books corralled.

Floor lamp

Of course he needs a reading lamp.  I gave him just a smidgen of industrial with this one.

Hammary Hidden Treasures 3-Drawer Blue Accent Chest

Git along li'l doggies!  I'm lovin' this blue distressed chest with the rust colored hardware.  Plenty of storage in this handsome piece for all his cowboy stuff.

Crestview Collection Running Free Bronze Horse Table Lamp
This masculine sculpted horse head table lamp pairs well with the chest.

Cavender's 6X Cowboy Collection Silverbelly Felt Cowboy Hat
Maverick's Stetson needs a place to hang.

English Tavern Wall Coat Rack

This vintage-inspired wall rack fits the bill and will look great even without the hat.

Just a few final accessories to make this
cowboy cave dweller happy.
Barbwire Rustic Ranch Throw Blanket
A Barbwire rustic blanket throw.

Crate & Barrel Lex Cocktail Glass

Classy glasses for this horse lovin' man.

Skagerak Dania Appel crate- Single image without content

An apple crate for holding the glasses --
or whatever else he wants to stow.

OneBellaCasa.com Wanted Horseshoe Pillow

A pillow (or two) with a message only
he'll understand.

paint horse - Watercolor
"Paints" Watercolor

And a watercolor by my favorite artist
Dennis Reinke.

There you have it. . . The Maverick Man Cave.
Go lasso that buckaroo and bring 'im on in.

  10. I think most guys would love your creating . . .
However, my guys idea for a man cafe is hard copy paper, (stacks of it) and I can't seem to come up with a solution to his idea of, "man cave!" I think it looks simply like a plain ole' CAVE!
    (I'll keep working on him though . . .)

    1. Hmm, stacks of paper can be a challenge. But if anyone is up for it, Lynne, it's you. Good luck! xxx
