Monday Morning Encouragement -- Care and Share

"And he stayed two full years in his own rented quarters and was welcoming all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered."
Acts 28:30-31

A leading newspaper executive was visited by a local pastor. The man of God came right to the point as they shook hands. "My friend," he said, "I'm here to ask you to become a Christian." The editor walked over to a window and for several minutes stood looking down into the street. The minister thought he had offended him. Finally the man turned, his face wet with tears. Taking his visitor's hand again, he said, "Thank you for your concern. Since I was a young boy at my mother's knee, not a single relative or business associate has ever taken an interest in my soul. I thought no one cared!"

For two years the Apostle Paul was under house arrest in Rome where he was allowed to receive visitors. He cared about all who came to him, and shared the gospel of Christ boldly. Some received it and some didn't, but Paul never worried about the results of his witness. He left that to the Holy Spirit.

Opportunities arise all the time for us to share the good news of salvation with the lost. We don't need to be concerned with how they react to our testimony. We only need to care enough to share what we know and leave the outcome to God.

On a personal note, God has opened the door for me to share the gospel with a co-worker who is going through a very serious health issue and family struggles. I believe He has called me to walk along side her and lead her to Him. I would appreciate your prayers as I answer His call.

I take great encouragement from Paul's life and ministry. He saw every circumstance as an opportunity to share Christ with the lost, and from that he never wavered. In a world that's hurting, that's filled with people who think no one cares, we have the answer. Let's never forget we are here to lead the way to Christ.

Today's music video The Gospel by Ryan Stevenson encourages me. I hope it will encourage you, as well.

I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you.

  1. This is a wonderful reminder and definitely something to give our attention to. So difficult to not fear rejection, but we are to speak for Jesus regardless, and leave the results to Him. Your co-worker is truly blessed to have your support!

  2. Enjoyed this lovely post, as the things mentioned have been heavy in my spirit as of late and the Lord has reminded me that we ought to be happy to be used even in ways that seem small. One tiny act of kindness brings God so much glory and I’m reminded of a quote by Mary Davis. It’s “ Perhaps our purpose here on earth is not a grand accomplishment, but a small kindness,
that we don't think much of, that changes the life of another”.

  3. That is a great story about the newspaper man. I think it's true more often than we think. I'll definitely be praying for you as you witness and minister to your coworker.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Hello! I have visited your blog from time to time and it's just lovely ☕
I am wondering if you know where I can find a blog you wrote on in possibly 2014?
It was Teri Long and she had the sweetest cottage blog. I can't seem to find it.
Hoping maybe you or one of your readers know where she's writing if at all? I did reread her guest post here on your blog, but was also looking for a current blog.
    God bless you! 🍂🍁

    1. I couldn't reply to your comment by email, as you're a "no reply-comment". So I hope you come back here and see my reply. I went to the link I had for Terri's blog and see that it has been removed. I've sent an email to the email address I have on file for her, and if she responds I'll come back here with an update. Hopefully, you'll see it. Take care and God bless you.
