Monday Morning Encouragement -- That's My King!

"He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,"
Colossians 1:13

Now that Easter Sunday, which we also call "Resurrection Sunday" is behind us, there may be a temptation to go on about life as usual.

The celebration is over.

Family meals have been consumed, the pretty dishes have been cleaned and stowed away until the next celebration, and our homes have been put back in order.

But let's not do that. Let's not close our Bible on the "Easter" verses and move on to something else. The resurrection is central to our faith. Jesus has won the victory over death, and we who have given our lives to Him, who believe in Him and trust Him as our Savior, have the wonder and the glory of eternal life with Him in Heaven before us. Let that sink in! Let that truth wrap itself around our hearts and warm our souls.

In the 1970's Dr. S. M. Lockridge preached a powerful sermon entitled "That's My King." Our church has played clips from his message a number of times. I'm including the unedited version here, which is about 7 minutes long, in hopes that it will stir your heart to worship our incredible King Jesus, as it has mine. I pray you will take time to watch it. It will bless you!

Today's music video That's My King by CeCe Winans is another way to worship our King. Enjoy it!

I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you.

  4. That's a powerful message, thank you for including that Nancy. Your opening verse from Colossians is one that I pray each week for my family, praying as though they have already accepted the invitation from Jesus to join His family, because I trust Him for this miracle. I can't go to a "back to business" attitude just because it's not Easter Sunday; I need Him too much to lapse into complacency! I really appreciate your weekly messages!
