Monday Morning Encouragement -- He Is Forever On The Throne

"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;" Psalm 45:6

It's been quite a week. For me, personally, it's been hectic. With this season comes more online orders to fill and ship, and that has meant overtime and a need to decompress when I come home.

Our country is in a state of decompression, too, I think, after Tuesday's election. Some citizens are elated. Others, not so much. There's still uncertainty as to who won offices in a number of states, and that can lead to doubt and worry.

However, this is what we must remember and cling to: God is still on His throne. In last week's post I closed with the words that I was praying for His will in the elections. And I do believe that His will has been done. Whether we like it all, or do not. His will has been accomplished.

How can I say that? Here's why:

"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." Romans 13:1

Did you catch that? No governing authority exists apart from God. He puts it in place.

Don't think for a moment that God looks on our elections and wrings His hands and laments over the outcome. No! He is on His throne, He is in control. His will shall be done. His wisdom is infinitely beyond what we can understand. He knew before America was even a dream what would happen on November 8, 2022, and He ordained it for His purposes.

I stopped questioning His sovereignty years ago, and in doing so have been rewarded with the peace that passes all understanding. When we accept both the good and the bad from God, believing that He truly does work together all things for good for those who love Him, as we're told in Romans 8:28, then we can take a deep breath, say "Thank you, Father!", and continue on in faith and hope. We can do this because He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. He has promised to protect and defend us. He has promised to take us home at the end of our journey. (Yes, Jesus! Take me home. . .I'm ready any time you say the word.)

Thank you for joining me on this journey. You are my sisters in Christ and I'm so grateful to every one of you. I appreciate you more than you know. I'm sorry I've been so absent the past couple of weeks. I'll try to do better going forward.

Today's music video by Phil Wickham His Name is Jesus is one I just discovered, and I hope you'll like it as much as I do. The lyrics are inspiring.

I love you, I'm thinking of you, and I'm praying for you

  2. No need to worry or to put pressure on yourself because the tempo of you life has picked up. It happens to us all at times. Our expectations of ourselves can be too high given our changing circumstances. Breathe. Relax when you can. If you feel too much time has gone by but you are still in the middle of hectic, just a sentence letting your readers know you are okay is a fine solution as far as I'm concerned.

  3. I agree with every, single thing you said. 'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, to know that He is in control, to know that He loves us & has our best interests at heart. No matter what goes on in this old world, this world is not our home. Everything is fine in heaven where we will spend eternity, & praise God that He never changes! We can turn to His Word on any given day, & it will be the same precious Word as it ever was. Your message at the end of your posts always means the most to me. God bless you for your faithful encouragement.

  4. This is very good Nancy. When we finally let go and let God be in charge and know he loves us and will take care of us it does make tough times a little easier. Thank you for writing your blog on Mondays. Life sometimes can be a busy time so we totally understand. Have a good week. xoxo Kris

  5. I live in Michigan and the election was terrible for us. A proposal passed allowing abortion until birth, along with other terrible things. So we've been down, but I've been reminded that God is in control and none of this is a surprise to Him. And - He put us here at this time for a reason.
    Thanks for your post today!

    1. Mari, here in Colorado we already had an abortion law on the books that allows for abortions until birth, so I share your feelings. Also, voters passed a ballot to legalize psychedelic mushrooms. Marijuana is already legal. I constantly have to remind myself of what I wrote today. xo

  7. Here I am, reading your Monday Morning blog at 10:10 on Monday night! Your words are so inspiring to me and I appreciate you taking the time to write them.
I agree so much with what you have said. Dennis read that same scripture last Thursday at Bible study where so many were upset at the election results. You are right, nothing surprises God. Also, as in the old testament, sometimes we are given the leaders that we deserve as a nation.
Praying for a week of peace and good health for you my friend.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

    1. Thank you, Betsy. You're rght. I often think of how the Israelites wanted a king so that they could be like all the other nations around them, and God gave them what they wanted. They got Saul, who was a disaster. We surely need to be careful about what we ask for! xo

  8. So beautifully shared Nancy! I'm sorry I've been absent from blogging, its been a hectic summer and fall, but oh so wonderful. I love your outlook and have felt the same myself. I've long since stopped trying to understand what God is doing, instead I know that I trust His plan, even when I don't understand it. It is very sad to see the state of affairs this country is in right now, but we can only trust that God's plan will take care of us. I follow a dear Christian in Ukraine who posts every day on FB. Her posts are so incredible. They are in such an hour of despair and darkness, yet the Lord has provided for them in so many amazing ways. i believe whatever the future holds, no matter how difficult the days may be, He is with us, and will provide for us. Take care of yourself dear friend, love and appreciate you so much! Hugs and Thanksgiving blessings!

    1. Thank you, Marilyn, for sharing your thoughts. What we are facing here in the U.S. pales in comparison to what his happening to the Ukrainians. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. xo

  10. Good morning Nancy, Yes! God is and will always be on the throne. We have to be reminded so often and thank you for your reminder of the Truth of who God is, was and will continue to be. Praying you can relax and be refreshed after your hectic workdays. The news from our country bungalow is that my husband Greg had a stroke on Saturday the 5th of November. God is good and we rest in His Sovereignty and Providence. Greg is doing well and we will be busy with hand therapy for him.
