Greetings Cottage Friends,
Christmas decorating is complete at A Joyful Cottage, and I'm happy to share my final 2021 Christmas craft with you. I think of all my Christmas crafts this year, this particular one is my favorite. It combines all the things I love: texturizing, painting and decoupage.
I used leftover foam board from the faux architectural salvage pieces to make the backboards and painted them with Rustoleum Linen White chalk paint. The sheet music is free printables I found on the internet.
An application of Waverly Antique Wax over the pieces helped to give them an aged look.
The star and the mini pallet it sits on came from Dollar Tree. I used scraps of drop cloth and little Dollar Tree pine cones, dry brushed with chalk paint, to trim each piece.
Another easy to accomplish, wallet-friendly Christmas craft. It doesn't get better than that.
How are your Christmas preparations coming along?
Hugs,
Delightful Christmas decorations. They are well shown off with the white wood background. One of your shelving areas? You are certainly having wonderful fun decorating and crafting for this Christmas. Glad you can do all this. I have to admit, my painting of Precious is just using a web site one of the cat blog moms told me about. Their use of the site are much more creative than mine. Lynn and Precious XX
ReplyDeleteYou are very talented, Nancy! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI gave myself the gift of 'enough' this year. With my parents, especially my mom being sick the whole month of November, and hosting a huge Thanksgiving meal. My living room/kitchen space is decorated and I love it. I have a garland in my bedroom with lights and plaid ribbon, and I have a pitcher of greens, a candle, plaid cloth, and some holly, ivy and lights in the bathroom. Very simple, really. I also have a wreath by the front door, garland on the garden fence, and a wreath on the kitchen door.
It's enough and I love it!
Fabulous! You are just hitting it out of the park this year with all your crafty Christmas creations. I decided to get back to basics this year and I let the red take center stage again. Sometimes you just have to go with what makes you smile.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I just love your decorations. Hope you're enjoying the holiday season and staying nice and warm, dear Nancy. All the best for the new year!
