Welcome Spring

Hello Cottage Friends,

Today truly felt like a spring day. Even though my patio is still partially buried in snow, much of it has melted and I am filled with spring fever. When I get this kind of feeling, I know it's time to make some decor changes around my home.

Recently I purchased a 3 tier tray at the Goodwill for $5.99. Normally, I try to keep my small item purchases to $5 max, but when I saw this 3 tier tray my heart melted. It had all the things I love. A chippy white finish, chicken wire, a scrolly (is that a word?) top and ooh! that little chalkboard. I knew that it would be a decor piece that I would love for a long time, and it didn't need any kind of makeover. It was good to go. So even at $5.99 from a thrift store, I felt it was a good buy.

With the change of seasons, now was the perfect time to decorate my new-to-me 3 tier tray.

The glass bird bottle was a thrift find last year. (If you've followed me for awhile, you know I love birds.) The eggs are from Hobby Lobby. They came in a bag of varied eggs: buffalo check, burlap and spotted, and were 40% off. The flower pots and flowers came from the Dollar Store.

The birds and "It is Well. . ." magnet came from Hobby Lobby, as well, and were 40% off.

The watering can, again, was a Hobby Lobby 40% off find. The moss came from the Dollar Store.

So, that's my spring centerpiece, and I love it.

I also finally took down my Christmas wreath this week (I know, I know. . .but it wasn't really THAT Christmasy, and I really thought it was pretty. Besides, I think it's okay to "live in the season" and not hurry into the next, if you so desire.) Anyway, today I hung my spring arrangement.

The wall basket was a $2 thrift store find. I dressed it up with burlap ribbon from Walmart, and a handmade bow. The hyacinth came from the Dollar Store.

Are you decorating for spring?

Hugs,

  1. Introduce Spring inside, Nancy, and you may hurry it along outside! Love the arrangement.
Birds and flowers are both sign of life to me. Love them. You are right to live in the moment
and not hurry time by. I'll be glad when it is not longer cold but I'm in no hurry to rush
the present by. Enjoy your home and hope the snow goes for you without a quick return. Lynn

    1. Well, it is officially spring by the calendar, so I'll continue in this seasonal mode. :) I'd like to see the snow completely melt, and realize it is watering my lawn and flower garden patch when it does. Thanks for visiting, Lynn.

  5. Oh, that basket is the best. You scored. Perfect inside or out and in any season or room of the house. Your cute and very cheery decor screams Spring. The eggs are adorable. Love birds and nest decor both inside and out all throughout the year also. I took down my tree finally just last month. If they made a national watermelon day I would even decorate my cottage for that, just to add some cheer in such an upside down and often depressing world we live in now. I did decorate for Spring but have been in such a funk I find it hard to even snap pix and put a post together about it. I have eggs and bunnies all around. Hope that snow has melted all the way by now? Have a wonderful Spring season. Blessings to you.
