God Bless America

God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
God bless America, my home sweet home.

Written by Irving Berlin, an immigrant who arrived in New York at age 5 as Israel Baline, the son of a cantor fleeing persecution of the Jews of Russia. He wrote the song during WWI.

I consider myself a patriot. I love my country and pray for her often. Today I celebrate America's Independence Day and feel deep gratitude in my heart for all those who have died to secure her freedom.

God bless the USA!

  2. I dearly love this song, it never fails to fill me with gratitude for being able to live in this great country. As much as I love our national anthem, God Bless America more clearly speaks to what I love about this land. Thank you for posting the words here and Happy Fourth weekend!

  5. I love that song. Always brings tears to my eyes when I sing it. Thank you for posting it to remind us how privileged we are to have this freedom that we so take for granted! Even with all that is going on in the world, there are way more "patriots" here in the US than we are made to think there are. I know many many many feel the same way you/we do.. they appreciate all who have and who do fight to keep our country safe and free. xoxo Marilyn

  8. God bless you, sweet friend. My heart has been SO heavy over the sad things that are happening in the pursuit of trying to rewrite our history and desecrate our heritage. I pray so often, too, with a very burdened heart. May God have mercy on our dear country, in Jesus' name.

  9. Like you dear Nancy, we hung out our much-loved flag and prayed that God will bless America!
These are such difficult and often very sad days, both here and round the world.

  10. Happy 4th of July my friend. I went to the largest unmasked, happy, fun party, BBQ and fireworks show I have ever been to in my life. We the people know the truth and want America back. We all celebrated America and our freedoms which are heavily under attack these days. America needs LOTS of prayer. WE need to turn from our wicked and evil ways and turn back to God. Repentance which invites healing of our land and healing of our hearts. That will usher in work of the Holy Spirit and invite revival which is desperately needed in America and around the world. Blessings to you Nancy.
