Welcome to the seventy-second post in the series
"Living Large in Small Spaces".
This delightful 17th century miller's cottage has been carefully and lovingly restored. Everything about it speaks to an earlier time, starting with an original hand water pump in the front courtyard which is still in working order.
Entering through the wisteria-shaded glazed stable door we encounter a petite kitchen where modern conveniences mingle happily with quaint painted cabinetry, exposed beams and a butler sink sitting atop white bricks.
I picture a little kitchen garden just outside the door from which I'd harvest ingredients for a simple meal cooked in this sweet kitchen.
Antiques like the grandfather's clock and the dining set make us feel like we're stepping back in time.
The perfect atmosphere to enjoy tea served from this beautiful transferware.
A working 1700's antique range warms the cozy sitting room and invites us to linger.
The panelled walls are extraordinary. A TV is hidden inside the cupboarded bread oven that's built into the chimney of the room.
The flooring under the large antique rug is original Suffolk white bricks.
I'm quite in love with this stunning woodwork.
Everything about this lovely room says "unwind".

A Victorian roll top bath on ball and claw feet suggests a luxurious soak.
Upstairs two bedrooms are tucked under the eaves. The first is casually dressed in blue and white.

Antiques toys create a whimsical mood.
In typical old-world cottage style, we walk through the first bedroom into the romantic master bedroom. The breathtaking canopy is so perfect for the architecture.
This is the quintessential English cottage bedroom.
The grounds of Cissy's Cottage are every bit as welcoming as the interior.

A beautiful spot to chat with friends, or sit alone and dream.
Cissy's Cottage is situated on a private nature reserve.
A walk through the reserve takes you to the seaside.
I feel relaxed just looking at this photo of the beach.
