I really do like the ...You're welcome, Marilyn. I really do like the wax, although it is pricey at $24.99 for a 6 oz. can. However, a little goes a long way and it does a superb job. I buy it at Ace Hardware and since I'm a rewards customer there I wait to buy expensive items like that until I have $$ off coupons. For example, I had a $10 rewards card for a $50 purchase. So, I stocked up on wax and other paint supplies that I would normally buy and took advantage of the savings. So that helps. Anyway, I always feel like spending a little extra for a quality product saves money in the long run. I do wax the cabinets after painting, once they are thoroughly dry, and that seals and protects them. I wait at least 24 hours after the last coat of paint. Waxing is not a hard thing to do. Basically it's applying a thin coat of wax with a lint-free cloth, letting it dry thoroughly and then buffing, again with a lint-free cloth. The end result is a subtle sheen. I discovered Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines clear wax, a KILZ product, and I have to say I absolutely love this product! It's creamy and easy to work with. I've used it on painted furniture, and now the kitchen cabinets, and it always performs well. After the chalk paint, do you have to put a coat of wax on or some sort of sealer? I have wanted to paint ours white (1970's house old wood cabinets) for 6 years now.. and it seems so daunting that I just haven't done it! I wish I could find a magic fairy to do it!! You are so creative and do such beautiful work and have such great ideas for your cozy home. Glad you had some cooler weather too... I did do a slight bit of sanding between the second and third coat where there was a little build up. I painted thin coats so I wouldn't get too much of that. This method seemed to work well for me. Thanks for the nice comment.
