Cottage Life - This 'n That

It's a busy time at the cottage right now, but I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for your very kind comments on my Weave Your Own Life post. I guess the subject resonated with you.

Also, thanks for your encouragement on the Spring Fling Bazaar. It's coming up fast -- Saturday, April 8th. Just a little over a week away. Whew! I'm busily crafting collages and checking my Bazaar To-Do list. (I have to make lists to make sure I don't miss anything? Are you a list maker, too?)

Yesterday while Dennis met with Les, our insurance man, I chatted with Ava, his wife. We share common interests and she asked me what I've been up to. I pulled out my iphone and showed her my latest collages. She fell in love with this one.

And I made a sale. Right there on the spot. She said they are the exact colors of her sewing room. I'm glad this one when to Ava. She's a sweetheart.

So now I'm working on another collage to replace this one for the Bazaar. Replacement only in number, not in style. Each collage is unique -- no two are ever alike. And that's what makes them so fun.

While we were in Enterprise I noticed the courthouse lawn had just been mowed. Seeing and smelling the freshly mowed green grass made me giddy, so you know I had to take some photographs to share with you.

Isn't it beautiful? This says spring to me, for sure. Some day I'll take photographs of the courthouse itself to share with you. It's really a grand structure.

I made a stop at the thrift store before we headed home and found this sweet little bunny for $1.

I wanted something springy and fun to hold my business cards at the Bazaar,

Isn't she cute? A little flower would be pretty in that basket, too, and I may just replace my business cards with a potted pansy or some other flower after the Bazaar. Maybe put it on my front porch table.

Well, I'm off to have coffee with a friend before the day gets totally crazy.

You gotta have some fun along the way. Never take life too seriously, I always say.

  7. Nancy you put so much joy into this post, I could feel the warmth of your heart while reading it. It was sweet to be able to know the places you wrote about, too. That courthouse lawn was the closest thing Autumn and the girls had to a front yard while living in Enterprise. Your little rabbit is adorable and the thrift shop where I am sure you purchased it, is the best one that I have ever gone to. Congratulations on a sale even before the bazaar starts. That goes to show just how charming your collages are. I am sure that you will sell out fast.
Lists, lists, lists . . . if I have a list, I get more done in a certain amount of time than I ever do without one. They have a way of keeping me focused. Otherwise I can be quite a shatter brain, LOL
    Have a lovely day.

  8. Mrs. Bunny with her basket is perfect for your cards! And for a posy afterwards. As much trouble as phones sometimes can be, it was perfect to show your collage. These things really are a help to us, aren't they? As are lists, I'd forget everything without them!

  11. The green grass . . .
just to see the pictures if the green is wonderful
and then to think about the fragrance of freshly cut grass
I am looking so forward to that happening here.
The little village looks charming . . .
    I am excited for your bazaar . . .
Lots of planning, checking the lists
and checking the lists again goes into something like this.
I am sure it will be a wonderful community happening!
Sweet pre sale you made of one of your collage pieces.
Charming piece . . . I love the little pocket like part with the button.
I imagine each collage has some stories woven in . . .
    Very creative Nancy.
    All the best on the 8th . . .
I look forward to seeing some pictures and your posting about it.

  12. Congrats on the sale. All your collages are so pretty, I like doing my collages of mixed media because they never come out the same. I know the bazaar will be a great success and yes I have always been a list maker but I really need them the older I get. LOL Thanks for sharing pics of the fresh green grass. Florida grass isn't that pretty. We have gone from Spring to summer this week, 91 today and supposed to be 90 tomorrow. AC time. Only good thing is I wont have to dust pollen off of everything when the windows are closed. Have a great week. Hugs

  13. Congratulations on your sale! I hope you make big bucks at the bazaar.

If that cute little bunny disappears, I didn't take it and I'm pleading the fifth ;)

And speaking of mowed grass, I need to mow mine. One of the few things I don't like about Spring lol

    1. I can't say that I really like lists. They remind me of all the many years I had to make lists at work, and that sounds like "work" to me. LOL They are helpful, though, to keep one on track.

But I've seen plenty of bunnies in the yard and a few ducks as well! And your dollar bunny is PERFECT for your cards or a small handful of flowers. Sweet as can be!
