Our Christmas Poinsettia Still In Bloom

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11

Have you taken time to see the beauty around you today?

What have you discovered?

Joy List Monday was prompted by Anne of My Giant Strawberry. I love her idea of "taking a few moments to jot down bits of beauty that I've noticed or any little details in my day that are bringing me joy."

    1. Thanks, Sue. I must say that the salad was yummy. Dennis had brought home some crab, so we had kind of a summer lunch. :)

  9. Today I had a pair of cardinals at the feeders and in the branches of my lilac tree. They are gorgeous against the white snow. I had to scroll back to see the upstairs door :) it would be gorgeous painted red too. I LoVe most reds and brown/reds. Hope you are having a wonderful week.
    Hugs Marg.

  11. Red is a real pick-me-up for me. I love it in all the traditional ways, with white and blue and yellow - but I also love the red and green of Christmas and even red and purple together on a scarf. It gives a bit of a zing to a room too.

  13. You had me at "farmhouse"—although I'm not crazy about the skull on the front door. But I do love the red door! I'm so glad you added that scripture. I love that verse... eternity in our hearts and yet we absolutely cannot (yet!) fathom what all that entails...

  14. Love that red door, skull, not so much . . .
Red certainly is a "pick up color, isn't it!
Two blogs back to back . . . all about red!

  15. Good morning Nancy! I just woke up and now I can enjoy my quiet moments here in Blogland, a place I love. I love that red door! And that salad you made...yum!

Yes, I think one of the many good things about getting older is to seize those beautiful moments that are often overlooked as we rush through life. Even the things that seem unappealing can be beautiful, if one stops long enough to appreciate it. I see more beauty in my job, in certain individuals who may not be so kind, and now, I see beauty in aging. It can only be God's grace, let me tell ya.....

Go and be beautiful my friend. Thank you for the email! Anita

    1. The quilt pattern is Thimble Blossoms, Piece of Cake 3. This is the second quilt I've made in this pattern; I love it for its simplicity and how quickly it sews up. xxx

  17. I didn't see the door on the second floor either. Guess that was the reason they didn't paint it. I wouldn't call attention to it either. The salad made my mouth water and when I read it was crab, I almost swooned. LOL I haven't had fresh crab in years. I am going to have to go crabbing this summer for sure,

I was feeling down this morning until I read your post and saw all the red. You reminded me that I have much to be greatful for even in my loss. Thank you.

  19. Your salad looks just wonderful. We love salad!

I am enjoying some winter sun catchers we made. I am going to blog about them next week. We froze water, cranberries and pine in a pie tin and you have a winter sun catcher. :-)

  22. Thanks, Gigi.I love that verse. We're pretty fortunate, we buy at least one poinsettia every Christmas and they always last a long time -- often way into February.
